Marley And Me (3-disc Bad Dog Edition) [Blu-ray]
Marley And Me (3-disc Bad Dog Edition) [Blu-ray]

When a dog wriggles his adorable rear end into a human’s life, the human will never be the same. And both Marley, the dog, and Marley & Me, the movie, manage to endear themselves deeply despite a few wee flaws. Readers of the John Grogan bestseller already know the raffish charm of the incorrigible yellow lab puppy, Marley, adopted by Grogan and his wife because she’s “never seen anything more adorable in my life.” But Grogan’s simple tale of love, in all its forms, shines on the big screen, thanks to deft comic turns by Jennifer Aniston–in top form here–and Owen Wilson. Their chemistry is utterly natural and believable as Marley’s owners, as is their interaction with the very naughty but ultimately irresistible Marley. As Marley grows up, the film follows his escapades–flunking out, spectacularly, from puppy training at the hands of a wickedly funny Kathleen Turner. And as Marley grows up, John and Jenny build their life together and weather some tough emotional blows. Like My Dog Skip, which it resembles in its affection for its subject, Marley & Me is a tear-jerker, but in the sweetest, most lovely way–because it, and its four-legged star, have wriggled into our hearts. Good boy. –A.T. Hurley

5 Stars The World’s Greatest Dog is Marley
Marley is the world’s greatest dog - for he doesn’t care if you are rich or poor, good or bad. Marley just gives you the love you deserve as long as you love him. Which human being can do this as consistent as a dog Marley?
3 Cheers to John Grogon for writing this book! I enjoyed this movie in the cinema!

1 Stars WARNING, WARNING, WARNING!!!!
What’s up Amazon.com? Are you guys getting kickbacks from the producers of this movie?! Does someone related to the producers work for your company? Who deleted the scathing review I post MONTHS ago re: this movie?! I saw this movie in the cinema with my whole family, including younger family members. We ALL walked out crying! AND IT WAS CHRISTMAS DAY! What was advertised as a funny, all good fun, family film, amounts to a dog being fairly graphically euthanized in the end. I wrote to the author of this work, his agent, and his publisher, to say how PATHETIC it is that they advertised this movie to sucker in families and children, only to hurt all of them in the name of profit. My beef with this movie is not that it’s bad, but that it’s advertising is/was totally misleading. WARNING!!! DO NOT buy this movie unless you want your child (or yourself) in tears!!! If that is what you want, fine. But I do not appreciate being LIED to, so that I see a movie only to have my family’s Chirstmas Day ruined. Further, I DO NOT appreciate AMAZON.COM deleting my review which could have saved countless other families from having their days ruined, or their children traumatized. So I’m giving one star to this movie and one star to Amazon.com for deleting what was a very helpful review. Let’s see you delete this one your cowards! Stand up to this movie’s false advertising folks! The country should have been outraged with how this was marketed. No - not everyone had read the book! And look at how the book is being advertised on TV right now! Same rubbish. So this gets my lowest rating AND I’m very disappointed with Amazon.com!!! I wanted to help at least one other person go through what we went through and you DELETED MY REVIEW! Very disappointed.
5 Stars Best Dog Movie I’ve ever seen. And then some.
My wife talked me into watching this movie and it gave me a run for my money. This is an extremely powerful movie. Even if it doesn’t look like it. Extremely profound are carefully crafted. It touched me in a way few movies ever have. Simply Brilliant. Just a warning. Grab a bucket for your tears because you’ll cry like a baby.
2 Stars SAD! Not for all family members!
PLEASE NOTE: Marley is an adorable dog and yes, the antics are really very cute throughout the movie. However, I am VERY disappointed this movie was advertised as a movie about Marley’s antics. I was NOT prepared for what the movie ended up to be and I was sorry I took the kids who left in tears. Perhaps all kids wouldn’t be in tears, but mine were. I know I was!
I would NOT recommend buying this as a gift for a child and their family if you haven’t previewed it yourself to see if it’s okay.
4 Stars The dog is part of the family, no questions asked
I watched this movie(the single disc edition) on a whim thinking it was going to be a funny screwball comedy, which I don’t usually like, but to tell you the truth, I watched it for the dogs. I just love animals and my pets, so I figured it would at least be mildly entertaining. It was a lot better and more heartfelt then I expected. I’m not a big fan of Jennifer Anniston, but she was very good in this and Owen Wilson was his normal funny, sweet self.
If you have had or currently have any kind of pet, but especially a dog, I think this a great movie for you. For those without a pet, it might scare you! But it shows that no matter what your dog does, you still love him unconditionally, because they’re a part of your family. You might want to ring their neck but they’re just too adorable to be mad at for very long. The movie was laugh out loud funny and also heart wrenchingly sad at the end. It really spanned comedy into drama territory very nicely. Well paced and great acting.
The only bummer was that the single disc edition only has some deleted scenes and a not so funny gag reel. If I had the choice I’d definitely grab the 2 disc edition, but that’s only for those who are really into special features.
