Microsoft promotes Steven Sinofsky to President, Windows division

Microsoft issued a press release today stating that Steven Sinofskyhas been named President of the Windows division. He is now responsible for the Windows business including both the engineering and marketing functions for Windows, Windows Live and Internet Explorer. Sinofsky was previously the senior vice president for the Windows and Windows Live Engineering Group and was known for leading the team that will be bringing us Windows 7.
