Resident Evil: Extinction [Blu-ray]
Resident Evil: Extinction [Blu-ray]

Studio: Sony Pictures Home Ent Release Date: 12/31/2007 Run time: 94 minutes Rating: RThe third installment in the massively popular film series based on Capcom’s zombie horror/science fiction games, Resident Evil: Extinction brings the world to an end, not with a whimper but a bang, as Milla Jovovich’s Alice pits her bio-organic superskills against armies of the undead in a post-apocalyptic Las Vegas. Also on hand is a more grown-up version of the games’ Claire Redfield (played by Heroes‘ Ali Larter), who leads a convoy of humans (among them Resident Evil vets Oded Fehr and Mike Epps, who reprise their roles as Carlos and LJ, as well as newcomers Ashanti and Spencer Locke) in search of sanctuary; meanwhile, sinister Umbrella Corporation scientist Dr. Sam Isaacs (Iain Glen) seeks a cure for the zombie virus outbreak via Alice’s blood, which he taps via a lab full of clones. Subtlety has never been the Resident Evil series’ strong suit, but it’s hard to argue against Extinction’s breakneck pace and impressive CG special effects; director Russell Mulcahy (the Highlander series) lends a lot of verve to the proceedings, and the script by producer Paul W.S. Anderson pulls in agreeable touches from The Road Warrior and Day of the Dead. A hit during the summer of 2007, Extinction should please series devotees and action-horror fans alike; the DVD includes commentary by Mulcahy, Anderson, and co-producer Jeremy Bolt, as well as several making-of featurettes, and a glimpse at the next entry in the Resident Evil franchise, the CG-only Degeneration. – Paul Gaita

5 Stars Best picture and sound on Blu-ray
I could not believe the audio content I was missing until I bought this set.
5 Stars Excellent
Great movies! Needed to replace reg. dvd with BluRay. Price was very reasonable, much cheaper than retail stores. Shipment was very fast and dvds in excellent condition. Thank you very much!
3 Stars Resident Evil
Not as good as the first two Resident Evil movies, but entertaining. If you liked the first two you will like this one, and if you haven’t seen the first two start with those first before you watch this one.
2 Stars A couple of decent action sequences don’t save this terrible film…
This movie is bad - so bad, in fact, that I would rather it hadn’t been made.
In lue of this travesty of film-making, watch Resident Evil: Apocalypse on TV… Every time Mike Epps’ “L.J.” is supposed to say M*** F***, they dub him saying “Motivator.” It makes the movie_at least_57 times better. (Which is 946 times better than ‘Resident Evil: Extinction.’) ^_^
5 Stars Resident Evil: Extinction
The 3rd installment in one of the movies that brought back the Dead films. This is true if you go back many years ago to the George Romero days no one has made a Zombie film for many years. Then The Resident evil Trilogy started it back again. In this 3rd installment Alice seems all grown up and ready to kick some Zombie butt. The Resident Evil movies have all broken many zombie rules. Alot of older zombie movies were always in the dark or so but now Resident Evil Extinction changes zombie rules again by fighting zombie’s in the day light and in the dessert of all place’s and in which the earth is covered in. Awesome times and Milla at her best. A 4th Resident Evil is in the mind of Paul W. Anderson director of all Resident Evil movies and Husband of Milla Jovovich who also wants to finish the series in a big bang but not sure if Sony wants that also, So will see. I myself cant get enough of it and would love another installment. Seeing it in Blu Ray just shows great detail and the time it took to make these zombie’s look the best on the big screen in years that I have ever seen. JRod
